How to Be An Email Coach
This weeks article
Have you ever thought about getting into coaching services, but you're an introvert? I get that. I completely understand. I too am an introvert and the idea of starting a coaching business is terrifying. I don't even sign up for coaching packages. I can't bring myself to talk to someone on the phone.
In fact I rarely talk to anyone on the phone. Even family. I mostly text, write, play games listen to music, and read on my phone. I use my phone for everything but calls when I can get out of them.
But there is a solution to this. You can still have a coaching service without doing it in person or over the phone. You don't even have to do Zoom calls for the coaching sessions. In this article, we are going to talk about doing email coaching.
What is email coaching?
Email coaching, also known as email-based coaching or distance coaching, is a form of coaching where the coach and client communicate primarily through email exchanges. This method of coaching allows for flexibility in communication, as clients can write and respond to messages at their own pace, without the need for real-time interaction.
Here are some key aspects of email coaching:
1. In email coaching, the coach and client exchange written messages to discuss goals, challenges, progress, and reflections. Clients can express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in writing, allowing for a deeper level of self-reflection and introspection.
2. Unlike traditional coaching sessions that require real-time interaction, email coaching is asynchronous, meaning that messages can be sent and received at different times. This flexibility allows clients to engage with coaching on their schedule, making it suitable for those with busy lifestyles or time constraints.
3. Email coaching encourages clients to take time to reflect on their thoughts and responses before composing their messages. Coaches provide thoughtful and detailed responses to support clients in exploring their goals, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
4. Email exchanges serve as a written record of the coaching process, allowing clients to revisit previous conversations, insights, and action plans. This documentation can help clients track their progress, hold themselves accountable for their actions, and reflect on their growth over time.
5. Email coaching offers clients a level of privacy and confidentiality, as messages are typically exchanged through secure email platforms or encrypted communication methods. Clients can freely express their thoughts and emotions without the fear of judgment or disclosure.
