How to start a podcast
This week’s Writing prompt:
This prompt centers around a mysterious, ancient bookshop that appears only at midnight in cities around the world, but never in the same place twice. The protagonist, an insomniac bibliophile, accidentally discovers the shop’s existence and decides to enter. Inside they find that the shop not only contains books that seem to be alive but also offers them a book that has the potential to change their life dramatically. However, this gift comes with a significant cost. Explore the protagonist’s journey through the mystical bookshop, the choice they make regarding the transformative book, and the consequences of their decision.
So you are thinking about starting a podcast. I know that I have been considering starting one myself. Something extra to add to my premium content for this newsletter.
It got me thinking. I don't know how to start one. I don't know what steps I need to take to produce one. So I began my research on this topic.
Now as I wrote in the last premium article I did use ChatGPT to help research this topic. I didn't ask it to write this article for me but I did take notes on some of the information that it produced.
Now with that information out of the way let’s get into the article.
The first thing you will need to do before producing your podcast is to develop a theme. You want to decide what your podcast is going to be about and what your niche is going to be. Who is your target audience? What are you going to talk about?
If you don't have this figured out you can't expect people to listen to it. You won't know who to target when advertising it. People won't want to listen to it if you don't know the topic.
